Gossip – it is a part of human nature and I believe it’s a characteristic every person has to some degree or another. It can be harmless or it can became harmful to the person or the situation that is being discussed.
In my line of business I hear a lot of gossip about this medium or that medium or about this healer or that healer, or in the way in which they teach. Sometimes it can be positive and sometimes it can be negative. I often wonder when I come in contact with gossip how much is fact and how much of it is fiction. We can never know the truth if it is not coming directly from the person who this gossip is about.
So why do we allow it to be a truth for us when we hear this gossip and then pass it on to others? Therefore, in so doing we give fuel to the gossip and we elaborate it even more. Then what started out as something very small becomes something much bigger moving even further away from the truth. It can be compared to a story that is retold many times, it loses its’ meaning and becomes something quite different.
Why do we do it? Why do we humans jump on the carousel, a carousel just going around in circles without direction, serving no purpose other than perhaps slandering others. Have you ever thought when you gossip about others that perhaps others are gossiping about you? It seems to be a characteristic in the world of mediums and healers.
So why do become involved with gossip? Is it to promote ourselves? Or are we guilty of the same thing that we are gossiping about? It is quite easy to fall into this trap, when you are taking a cup of coffee with a friend and you start talking, then it escalates from there. I have met many mediums and healers in my own work as a medium that have been slandered by gossip, and in the most part what has been said about them has carried no truth.
I do my best not to be infected by gossip or to react to it, because if I do I just become part of this negative energy and to what purpose? Next time you listen to gossip and allow yourself to be affected by it, ask yourself, what am I doing?
Therefore in so doing it gives you the opportunity to step out of it and free yourself of its’ influence.
