In April of 2016 I found myself in hospital after undergoing major surgery that lasted for about five or six hours. It was a type of surgery that one could say was critical. I was in hospital for about ten days, and those ten days proved to be extremely interesting. Why? They gave me quite strong antibiotics and because they were so strong I could not close down. There I was in the hospital room having visitors that I did not expect – spirits! Many of them I felt were earth bound and in some respects quite happy to be there. With each visit I realised that they were very, very curious. I asked them: “Why have you come?” The answer they gave me was: “We knew that you could see and feel us. This is very unusual for us, that somebody in your world is able to recognise us and understand us.” They were never negative, just friendly. It was as if they sought my company. Some said that they came to make contact with me, in order to release themselves and pass over, but there were those who just came to offer comfort, to show their support.
Anyway, the days went on and after about ten days I was discharged from hospital and could go home. It was a Thursday. The following day I was feeling a little bit tired, so I thought: I will lay on the sofa and just relax. However, my wife Astrid, who has a very strong intuition, came over during her lunchbreak to check how I was. She just looked at me and said: “How are you?” “I am okay”, I answered. “Just feeling a little bit tired.” She looked into my eyes and just said: “I am calling 1177 for advice.” The advice she received was: “Take him to the emergency room now. If the fever goes up and he breaks out in chills, call an ambulance.” Astrid informed me that we were going to the hospital at once. Typical of me, I said: “There is no need for that, I just need a cup of tea.” “We do not have time for that, we must go to the hospital – now.” Within a very short time my temperature had gone over 40 degrees.
In the hospital they discovered that I had a very bad infection, to the point where I was delirious. So, there I found myself back in hospital. As the days progressed, the doctors were taking their tests and trying to take control of the infection. One day they told me they were going to do an x-ray to see where the infections were. They later realised that it was in three different places.
Whilst I was waiting to be taken down to the radiology department I suddenly heard this voice: “Do not leave your body!” It kept repeating itself. This continued when I found myself in the radiology department. Just before going into the scanner I looked up, and there before my eyes was a tunnel and flying above it I saw a dove. It was at this moment I realised what the voice had meant by me not leaving my body, so I did not take the tunnel. At the same time I did not fully understand. The following day Ascala showed himself. What you did not realise was how exhausted you were physically and mentally, If you had accepted the invitation of the dove you would have passed over, he explained. In showing you this we were giving you the decision to stay in this life or pass on to the next. We had to create this situation to find out whether you had the will to remain or to come and join us. Either way you would not have made the wrong choice. It was our way of respecting you, by saying: It is your choice.
I observed you in silence and then, what gave you the will to remain was the realisation that your mission in this life would be incomplete if you were to leave. But it was very important for us for the choice to be yours. When you made that decision your soul gave you the answer, and what was interesting for us when we gave you that opportunity, you were not afraid, you were in harmony with yourself. You were then able to realise that a new phase was beginning in your life. A new phase of your work for spirit.
A few days later you asked us if you would be well enough to work on a cruise for Aftonbladet. When you asked that question you wanted to have something positive to work towards, and we know that when you make a promise to work for somebody it is very difficult for you to break that commitment. As you can remember, when you arrived on the ship where the event was being held, you still had fever and no appetite.
The following day when you awoke the fever was still present, and we were there when you said to Astrid: “I do not think I am going to make it today.” An hour later the fever had almost disappeared and you were able to carry out the two demonstrations that you had promised to do that day. Then you realised that we had kept our promise. We sent our love that gave you healing and as you may recall, from that day, the infection completely disappeared.
”We keep our promises to those who keep theirs.” As he begins to leave the room he turns to me with a smile saying: ”We have much more to do.”

Dear Terry,
I was very touched by you sharing here your very personal story.
You touch so many souls, Terry.
I can understand that it would be a blessing for you and your team to return to soul home and restore your energy after such hard work done. Your choice to stay is to me a sign of great courage. We love you!
Astrid seems to be an angel sent to you. A woman with such an intuition is a blessing, for sure.
I hope that you will find ways to recover your health and live many, many years knowing that we are many who see you as a person and soul.
We feel grateful for your contribution here. The world is mended by people like you.
Sending you love and light

From my heart I can only say thank you, Rita. Welcome to the blog! /Terry Evans
Thank you so much for your amazing story! It reminded me in every aspect of Anita Moorjani’s, and although I’d just arrived home from Berlin late yesterday night when I found your story, I had to right away re-read her summary on her homepage (anitamoorjani.com) in my excitement! There she describes – among all the other spectacular moments she’s encountered – how her late father was telling her that “it’s not your time to come home yet. But it’s still your choice whether you want to come with me or go back into your body.” (And then she discovers that she has some enlightening tasks left to do in her life, just like you, and decides to return.)
In this context, I even remembered one of my favorite quotations from Deepak Chopra’s late partner David Simon who in his turn quoted Dianne Connelly’s so very true-ringing insight that “all sickness is homesickness”, just as Anita’s father hinted at when saying, “it’s not your time yet to come home“. (Hard to read and write about this without tears in my eyes, but tears of joy …)
Thanks and best wishes from Maja
What you just written has given me an even better understanding of my experience. Thank you! /Terry Evans
